Der junge italienische Tenor ist ohne Zweifel der Newcomer des Jahres.  Nach seinem sensationellen Debüt an der Londoner Covent Garden Opera an der Seite von Anna Netrebko sorgte auch sein Arien-Debüt-Album „The Italian Tenor“ für Furore und platzierte sich hoch in den deutschen Longplay- und Klassik-Charts. Auch die Fachpresse war begeistert: „eine Stimme wie ein Lichtstrahl, der ins Dunkle bricht, funkelnd, schillernd.und überwältigend schön“ (Audio). „Grigolo hat alles, ..Stimme, Glanz und Charisma“ (Der Spiegel).
